"AGO is an organization dedicated to bringing about an end to population and consumption growth, and to the promotion of true economic, personal, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual growth by supporting policies that move Oregon toward sustainability."

AGO plans to hold statewide workshops in April/May 1999 in Bend, Eugene, Ashland, Corvallis, Florence, and Salem.

The second Alternatives to Growth Conference will be held October 30, 1999 in Portland, OR.

Willamette Valley Livability Forum
The Willamette Valley Livability Forum is a voluntary consortium of citizen leaders and representatives of business and industry; educational institutions; non-profit organizations; and local, state, and federal governments.

Created by Governor John Kitzhaber and guided by a Governor-appointed advisory board, the Forum's primary objective is to build linkages among Valley leaders and decision-makers to enable them to share concerns, better understand trends and interrelationships, promote partnerships and coordination, take a holistic and integrated approach to decision making, and create and implement a vision to guide the Valley's growth.
